WHITE CREEK - Patricia (Pat) Ann McCart, 84, passed away Tuesday, April 7th, 2026, with family by her side.
A Celebration of Life will be held June 7th from 12:00pm-2:00pm at Jeans Place diner in Hoosick Falls, NY.
Pat was born April 22, 1941, in Grafton, NY to Raymond and Mary (Grogan) Babcock where she lived with her two siblings in Hoosick Falls, NY until she was married.
Pat married William (Bill) McCart Sr. in 1956, and together they raised 5 children in White Creek, NY. While formally educated until only 15, Pat was smart. She was relentless in everything, didn’t care to sit still, was quick to respond, and witty, too. She was kissed by fire, and her hair was certainly the physical manifestation of her fiery spirit. Pat was loyal, honest to her core, incredibly hardworking, and generous. When her grandkids were young, you could find them often at Grandma McCart’s home; playing in the yard around the willow tree, having sleepovers, and making popcorn served with what they would tell you, was a whole stick of butter in a huge silver bowl! She enjoyed spending time with her girlfriends, especially at the casino, and her cats were her whole world. She was a talented seamstress and worked many years in her trade; but her true talent shined when she once made flower girl dresses for her granddaughters. You could often find Pat at her dining room table, generously offering to share what she had, even if it meant she went with less; she exemplified altruism.
Pat is survived by her children; Kim LaCroix (Bennington), Katherine Hutton (Watervliet), William McCart Jr. (White Creek), and Sean McCart (White Creek), her 13 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and her nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Mary, her husband, Bill, and her siblings Joan Hoffman and Harold Babcock.
